To further my love for printed periodicals, here’s another post about a great looking magazine store I can’t wait to visit. This one is in Berlin and is called “Do you read me?”. A friend claimed it’s the best magazine store in Europe..They also have a great little blog on their site showing their new magazines. Berlin is coming up in the following months, can’t wait!

I love magazines..I really genuinely love them. and boy oh boy I can’t wait to get over to Tokyo next month!!!! We ♥ Magazine Library is a new mag shop that just opened up there. God, I love magazines. They carry current issues and back issues of pretty much any magazine that’s worthwhile in this small little world of ours. Did I mention I love magazines?

The hype machine is churning, and everyone is talking about “Love”… Condé Nast’s newest publication devoted to “Fashion & Fame”, brought to you by Katie Grand. Economic collapse, and Condé Nast is still putting out new 300+ pg rags.. This thing better be good! but with mag culture writing reviews like this,
“Although prepared and presented to the high level expected of it’s creators, in the end Love is a flick-book of rather jaded ideas. ”
I have a feeling this will become just another book on the shelf.
There’s been a few cover previews circulating around recently.. I was a fan of the 50’s uppereast side styling, and iggypop… I understand why they chose Beth Ditto nude, but common’.. It’s looks so New York early 90’s post modern boring. I think they missed the mark a little bit there and are chasing the new Interview a little too hard.

Cool to see Non-Format getting into even more editorial work.. I’ve been a big fan of their work for a while, and love their fresh approach to type. These are spreads from a french version of Elle called “Very Elle”…Interesting article about it on CR’s site.. It’s a shame that the publisher let such an ugly cover continue to run even though Non-Format jumped in at issue 2 and tried to push for a re-design of it.
Apartamento

Picked up this great little magazine at the Frankfurt airport before flying over to HK called Apartamento… It’s done by some spaniards out of Barcelona, and is a great little mag.. The premise of the mag is to be “an everday life interiors magazine”. And they start the mag off with a great little essay based on “Hominess is not neatness”… I myself like magazines and books to be around me, not quite tidy and perfect, just there, and have been picked up and read. You need to live in your home, not treat it like a Museum.
